CONNECTICUT 97
1997, November 12th, Mohegan Sun Casino, Uncasville CT, USA

CD1:1.TV Mania Intro - 2.Medazzaland - 3.Big Bang Generation - 4.Hungry Like The Wolf - 5.Who Do You Think You Are? - 6.Electric Barbarella - 7.A View To A Kill - 8.Out Of My Mind - 9.MICHAEL - 10.Save A Prayer - 11.Be My Icon*
CD2: 1.Anyone Out There - 2.Buried In The Sand - 3.Come Undone - 4.Friends Of Mine - 5.SO LONG SUICIDE - 6.Careless Memories - 7.Secret Oktober - 8.Ordinary World - 9.Rio

Audio Quality: GOOD AUDIENCE (au8)
Notes: The Ultra Chrome, Latex and Steel tour starts tonight from Uncasville, in Connecticut. The cd is a worth having piece for its historical value and for a couple of good reasons: first, here you have a rare live performance of "So Long Suicide"! The guys played that song just at the very beginning of the 97 tour, during this show and in Boston (the day after). And this Uncasville cd is better sounding that the Boston bootleg, so here you have the best live version of "So Long Suicide" that is available today! The second reason is the very sweet performance of "Michael"; this song is rare on the 97 shows, because they just played it on the first 4 shows (Uncasville, Boston, Philadelphia and New York) and - as the ending song - in Las Vegas.
Track #11(*) on the cd1 is not from the Uncasville show: it comes from Pleasure Island and is excellent.

PLEASURE ISLAND

1997, November 27th, Walt Disney World, Orlando FL, USA: 1.Big Bang Generation - 2.Electric Barbarella - 3.A View To A Kill - 4.Out Of My Mind - 5.Who Do You Think You Are? - 6.Be My Icon - 7.Buried In The Sand - 8.Come Undone - 9.Ordinary World
1997, December 24th, Privacy (via satellite): 10.Michael - 11.Who Do You Think You Are? - 12.Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
BONUS TRACK: 13.So Long Suicide (alternate mix)

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT SOUNDBOARD (sb10)
Notes: This is the best audio quality CD of the "Ultra Chrome, Latex and Steel" 97 tour. It was released as a radio promo for "Medazzaland", so the tracklist is particularly focused on the songs of that album. The first part of the CD features nine songs taken off an excellent Orlando show recording. This is the only soundboard recording which includes "Be My Icon", "Buried In The Sand" and "Who Do You Think You Are?". "Out Of My Mind" is perfect, "Electric Barbarella" and "Big Bang Generation" are great. Unfortunately, the tracklist of the Orlando show is not complete. The second part of the "Pleasure Island" bootleg includes three tracks broadcasted all over the world via satellite from Privacy, the Warren bedroom/recording studio. Both "Michael" and "Who Do You Think You Are?" are acoustic versions, featuring Warren playing guitar and Simon singing. No other instruments are there. "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" is a short lullaby sung by Simon, without any music. As Bonus Tracks, this CD includes a BEAUTIFUL alternative version of "So Long Suicide". I wonder why they didn't put this version in the "Medazzaland" album. Who knows?

TAMPA 97
1997, November 28th, Performing Arts Centre, Tampa FL, USA

CD1: 1.Medazzaland - 2.Big Bang Generation - 3.Hungry Like The Wolf - 4.Who Do You Think You Are? - 5.Electric Barbarella - 6.A View To A Kill - 7.Out Of My Mind - 8.Save A Prayer
CD2: 1.Be My Icon - 2.Buried In The Sand - 3.Come Undone - 4.Anyone Out There - 5.Friends Of Mine - 6.Careless Memories - 7.Secret Oktober - 8.Ordinary World - 9.Rio

Audio Quality: VERY GOOD AUDIENCE AUDIENCE (au8/9)
Notes: A rare 97 show. The performance and the audio quality are very good, although the songs are played in a slightly faster way. I don't know whether the original recording had this speed problem, or the show was actually played like this. Anyway, it is good! The different speed gives the music a great energy. The 97 shows in a good audio quality are very hard to find, so, if you already have "Teardrops In The Sky" and you are looking for one more "Ultra Chrome, Latex And Steel" boot, this is a good choice.

SAN DIEGO 97
1997, December 08th, Spreckles, San Diego CA, USA

CD1: 1.TV Mania Intro/Medazzaland - 2.Big Bang Generation - 3.Hungry Like The Wolf - 4.Who Do You Think You Are? - 5.Electric Barbarella - 6.A View To A Kill - 7.Out Of My Mind - 8.Save A Prayer - 9.Anyone Out There - 10.Be My Icon
CD2: 1.Buried In The Sand - 2.Come Undone - 3.Friends Of Mine - 4.Careless Memories - 5.Girls On Film - 6.Secret Oktober - 7.Ordinary World - 8.Rio

Audio Quality: VERY GOOD AUDIENCE AUDIENCE (au9)
Notes: Another excellent companion to "Teardrops In the Sky"; the show is great, and the recording is really good; tonight, for the first time during the "Ultra Chrome, Latex and Steel" tour, the guys added their classic "Girls On Film" to the setlist of the show! Actually, you did already find this song in the tracklist of the "Teardrops In The Sky" bootleg; the reason is that in my opinion, that boot is the recording of the Las Vegas show that the guys played on December 10th, two days later the san Diego concert that I'm listing now. So, tonight it's the very first time that they played "Girls On Film" in a 97 tour's concert. Maybe this is a birthday present for Warren? Yes, tonight is the Waco's birthday, so you can hear somewhere, during the show (I don't remember exactly where, sorry) the crowd singing "Happy Birthday To You".

LOS ANGELES 97
1997, December 09th, Universal Amphitheatre, Los angeles CA, USA

1.Hungry Like The Wolf - 2.Who Do You Think You Are? - 3.Electric Barbarella - 4.A View To A Kill - 5.Out Of My Mind - 6.Save A Prayer - 7.Anyone Out There - 8.Be My Icon - 9.Buried In The Sand - 10.Come Undone - 11.Friends Of Mine - 12.Careless Memories - 13.Girls On Film - 14.Secret Oktober - 15.Ordinary World

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT AUDIENCE (au10)
Notes: I HIGHLY recommend this bootleg to all of them that love the Barbarella days stuffs: this concert is excellent, the audio quality is surprisingly good, maybe is not perfect, but the cd sounds like you actually standing there attending the concert! Unfortunately, the tracklist is not complete, but just three songs are missing (the first two "Medazzaland" and "Big Bang Generation", and the final "Rio"), and the majority of the show is here! "Buried In The Sand" and "Come Undone" are great, and I really love the "Out Of My Mind" and "Secret Oktober" performances. I think this is the best cd of the "Ultra Chrome, Latex And Steel" tour.

TEARDROPS IN THE SKY
1997, (could be) December 10th, The Joint - Hard Rock Café, Las Vegas NV, USA

CD1: 1.TV Mania Intro - 2.Medazzaland - 3.Big Bang Generation - 4.Hungry Like The Wolf - 5.Who Do You Think You Are? - 6.Electric Barbarella - 7.A View To A Kill - 8.Out Of My Mind - 9.Save A Prayer - 10.Anyone Out There - 11.Be My Icon
CD2: 1.Buried In The Sand - 2.Come Undone - 3.Friends Of Mine - 4.Careless Memories - 5.Girls On Film - 6.Secret Oktober - 7.Ordinary World - 8.Rio - 9.Rio (part two) - 10. Michael, You've Got A Lot To Answer For

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT AUDIENCE (au10)
Notes: This is the most famous CD of the "Ultra Chrome, Latex and Steel" tour. The place and the date of the gig are unknown; all the dialogues are cut off, and that makes it really hard to find the right references. Anyway, I've got an idea about it. I think this is the show the guys played on December 10th at "The Joint - Hard Rock Café" in Las Vegas. I've been told that at the end of the Las Vegas show, they played "Michael" and this song wasn't the ending song in the usual setlist of the tour. So, if they played "Michael" at the end of the show only once, this must have happened at the end of the Las Vegas show. I can't be sure, but this is my opinion. Anyway, the rare 97 live version of "Michael" is here. The tracklist shows two parts of "Rio"; this is not correct. The original copy has a 5 second gap in the middle of that song, during the sax part. I've edited the song, putting the two tracks together, so the sax part remains incomplete, but now there are no gaps!

VH-1 ULTIMATE OFFICE PARTY
1997, December 13th, Cosmikey Park, Chicago IL, USA

1.Hungry Like The Wolf - 2.Big Bang Generation - 3.Girls On Film - 4.A View To A Kill - 5.Electric Barbarella - 6.Come Undone - 7.Ordinary World - 8.Rio
BONUS TRACKS: 9.The Story Of Medazzaland (interview) - 10.Bomb (demo) - 11.All She Wants Is (alternate lyrics) - 12.Too Much Information (Techno 7") - 13.Skin Trade (Nile Rodger's remix) - 14.Time For Temptation (digital world remix) - 15.Time For Temptation (Nick's Motown remix)

Audio Quality: VERY GOOD SOUNDBOARD (sb9/10)
Notes: This is the recording of the show that was broadcasted on VH-1 in December 1997 (also available the video version); the show is just eight songs long, because of the broadcast's rules, but the performance is great and the audio quality is good, so you will enjoy this cd! My favourite song during this show is "Come Undone", but I'm not sure if it's because of the musical performance: listening to this song, I always remember the video shots of Simon licking his fingers; if you did already seen this concert, you'd know what I'm talking about now! An interesting part of this bootleg are the nice BONUS tracks; these are all demos and remixes, and most of them are already available in other bootleg cds or vynil official releases, except of the interesting interview "The story Of Medazzaland". That track is directely taken off the Medazzaland Electric Press Kit videotape. The Nile Rodger's remix of "Skin Trade" is actually the famous Parisian Mix. The two version of "Time for Temptation" are very interesting. The great audio quality and the bonus tracks are two good reasons to trade for this cd.
